An Instructor and Champion
Luca Riccitelli was born in 1971 and has a very impressive curriculum. Motorsport has always been associated with the Riccitelli family, from 1960’s Luca’s father Sandro and uncle Gianfranco Riccitelli devoted themselves with success and inexaustable passion to the preparation and racing of cars.
Luca started his career in the 1980’s, when as a youngster he obtained multiple victories in Italian National Karting. Luca first raced in single-seater racecars in 1991, and he immediately distinguished himself in Formula 3 finishing 2nd in the 1994 Italian Championship. In the following seasons, Luca raced and won in various categories such as British Formula 2 and Super Formula where he won 4 out of 5 races competed.
In 1997 Luca commenced racing in various touring and GT based car categories, namely the FIA GT Championship. The following season at the wheel of a prototype sportscar, Luca became ISRS European Champion. In the same year he won numerous GT races at the wheel of a Porsche 993 GT3.
1999 saw Riccitelli on the top step of the podium at the 24 Heures of Le Mans in the GT3 class at the wheel of a Porsche 996 GT3 Porsche Motorsport Factory Team Car. In the 2000’s, with the cars from Stuttgart, Luca achieves the very special emotion that comes from being on the podium of the Daytona 24 Hours and winning races of international significance in FIA GT series, American Le Mans Series and the Porsche Super Cup.
